Going to put a warning to others watching this video, not all Acer Aspire 3's support 2.5" drives. Just purchased an Aspire 3 with a Ryzen 5700u, and no support for 2.5" drives, but it does have 2 m.2 slots allowing you to install a second NVME SSD.

When I boot into the Dell Recovery Assistant, and click reset, it won't let me select any of the two options and I'm unable to reset. Does anyone know what to do from this?

bruh this laptop got a china version do u know why one of the fans is gone? cuz the china model got a 7840hs with 2 heatpipes and 2 fans for more cooling capabilities the overall design is also the same with a $700 price tag 😂 Go check that out

There are no ports missing. You just have to buy the caddies yourself. You can easily fit another nvme ssd and a 2.5" into it.

I know this is going to sound very jerry rigged, but the empty space for the 2nd fan indicates that there is a version which has 2 fans in this chassis. Would it be possible to get the cooling element of the 2 fan version and put it inside this laptop? Could be really interesting to see how quiet it goes if the software can be tuned. Maybe even a max wattage increase for the gpu and cpu. Would be awesome if you could maybe do something with this idea. Awesome review videos by the way.

There is a new version i bought is called Llano V10. It has 3500rpm. Slimmer design. The fan is also shrouded so less noise. Usb hub is at the back and looks clean.

For me this would give better performance because my laptop gets REALLY hot, so hot that the CPU always thermal throttles (CPU getting so hot it needs to decrease performance to cool down) Even in gaming at low settings :sob: so I had to disable some performance settings in the BIOS for some minor temperature drops.

Why not just use an external SSD HD instead of replacing the existing 128 G?

Just bought one with i5 9400h for £190 , was torn between that or one with i7 9850h both gen 9 , i5 1 month newer and benchmark online said i5 was slightly faster ? i7 had more threads and cores 6/12 vs 4/8 so i was leaning towards that one but then I discovered i5 9400h came with nVIDIA GeForce MX150 whereas the i7 only had onboard "Intel UHD Graphics 630" so with the added gpu and the fact the i5 was newer and benchmark seemed slightly faster online I chose the i5 version, not really gonna use for gaming, I might try some out , just wanted a half decent laptop for everyday use and maybe some photo editing on lightroom and maybe some music editing did I chose right one ? not sure if the added gpu will be better than having more threads and cores ? and why did the 9400h score higher on speed than the 9850h ? will prob be not much difference between the 2 and I'm just trying to choose the slightly bigger slice lol

Man this thing throws quite a punch for casual gaming. Throwing it in 1080p is more than enough on this for majority of casual gaming.

Can I put a 4TB Ssd in here? I read online somewhere that the latitude 7420 only supports up to 1TB but I wasn’t sure if they meant they only sell up to 1TB, or it would reject anything above 1TB, I was confused

Not worth it At all. Do not buy. For 1000-1500 you can get a 4060-4070 laptop with vastly faster ddr5 ram.

Most important thing is the fan noise is it loud and noisy

When I try game mode my single core speed goes little lower for some reason than it would when I am woulds use creator mode. I am using Ryzen 9 5950x 16 core cpu tho...

I have a Dell SFF system which I tried to replace the Liton 240GB that came with it, while the cloning software reported everthing went right, the system refused to boot from the new SDD which is a 1TB Crucial, watching this video gives me hope for my Laptop when the time comes but makes me wonder if the SFF is BIOS locked to certain SSD or some silly thing like that. my first experience with SSD was ages back with a 20GB HP SSD that once removed from the main system refused to work ever again (replaced with a new 500GB because my son wanted more space. Since then I avoided SDD until recently when I thought I needed to make the move and doing so has been nothing but good, until i7 #2 the Dell SFF, my work around was to add a card to run a 2nd NVMe and that worked a treat though the Dell won't boot from that card even with the Liton installed. put the Liton back in the NVMe port on the MB and all it well again. but now the lifespan of the Liton is reaching an uncomfortable limit, this video tells me I should be able to swap my Laptops SSD for new, but honestly my i7 SFF is 6yh Gen against this laptops 11th Gen, while not for my setup still very helpful thank you.
